I love the Tim McGraw Song, "My Little Girl" and everytime I hear it I think of Amy. Here are the words:
Gotta hold on easy as I let you go. Gonna tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know. I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm. You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born.
You're a beautiful baby from the outside in. Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again. Go on, take on this old world. But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.
When you were in trouble that crooked little smile could melt my heart of stone. Now look at you, I've turned around and you're almost grown. Sometimes you're asleep I whisper "I Love You!" in the moonlight at your door. As I walk away, I hear you say, "Love You More!"
Someday, some boy will come and ask for your hand. But I won't say "yes" to him unless I know, he's the half that makes you whole, he has a poet's soul, and the heart of a man's man. I know he'll say that he's in love. But between you and me. He won't be good enough!
You're a beautiful baby from the outside in. Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again. Go on, take on this old world. But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl.
Amy got her invitations for graduation last week and will be working on them over the next couple of days so don't worry she hasn't left anyone out ... she's just a little slow gathering her addresses.
Today we had a picnic at our house with Art, Helen, Joanna, Ethan, Harmony, Tamara, Del, Amanda, Amy, Atley, Ashley, Shawn, Justin, Dee, Rebecca, Matthew, and Zak (Matthew's friend). We had great steaks, shrimp, taters, salad, brownies, and banana pudding. Harmony finally got her Easter basket and got to play with her top (her Christmas present from Opa). The big boys played a little bit of botchie (sp?) ball while Amanda and Atley through the frisbee with Harmony. Another big hit was Frank's little arcade game that Art got him for Christmas ~ the shooting gallery. Harmony was pretty good at it, too, as you will see in the pictures to follow, her aim was dead on! We had a great time and are so happy everyone got to be here.
Well, my mom was in the hospital for 8 days, got out yesterday afternoon, ate supper, spent the night at home and woke up this morning sick again, this time with a numb right leg. She is now back at the hospital and we are once again waiting to see what is going on. Please pray for the doctor's guidance and for our patience.
Look at him, isn't he a cutie? This cake shows only 5 candles but we all know he has grown up a WHOLE BUNCH since then. Ten years later and he's now over 6 feet tall and getting ready to go get his driver's permit. WOW! Hope you had a great day today, Nick. We love you! P.S. Now tell us what you want for goodness sakes!
Well, it has been a busy last few Wednesdays! I couldn't remember whether I posted or not so I went back and looked and it appears I didn't since Amanda's birthday! Whew, where has my brain been? Maybe you shouldn't answer that.
Oh, I know, one week I had to be a John Johnson Ford on Wednesday instead of Tuesday - that week I weighed on Thursday and had another "0", oops, I mean, I "maintained!"
The next Wednesday, Julia was out, but I lost .6 - YEAH! That was the .6 I was waiting for and it got me to that magical next 5 pound mark - 55 Pounds! The next week I weighed in again on Thursday and had another maintaining week.
Last week, Mom was in the hospital and I was in Waynesville on Weigh-in day. It was the first week I had missed completely. On the scales at home I was still pretty much at the 55 pound mark, though. On Thursday of this past week, I started on some awful pills to help regulate my "girly" parts and boy has it made me hungry! I have been trying to watch what I eat, but I feel as if I am snacking even when I don't realize it. I am almost too afraid to step on the scales. Hopefully, I haven't done too much damage. I certainly do miss my meetings though.
Please pray for my mom, right now she is in the hospital in Waynesville and we aren't sure what is wrong. She thought she was having a major migraine - the really, really sick kind, but she also had a fever. Daddy took care of her for 2 or 3 days before deciding she was getting dehydrated and he needed to take her to the hospital.
Right now we are waiting for tests to come back. But I ask that everyone remember her in your prayers as we wait.
Today was weigh in day, but I had to be in Brevard to do the John Johnson ad so I didn't get to weigh -hoping to make it there on Thursday. Right now I am writing on the new tablet pc we got at work. It reads my handwriting as I write on the screen and then I tap insert and it puts it here for you to read in typed form-isn't that cool? I just got it at 6 tonight and of course I have already taken all the training on the computer including learning now to use the Speech recognition feature, too! It's really neat, but I know it will do better if I have a proper headset. Matt has one in his pc class that will be mine once this school year ends. This is really neat, but I better get to bed, I have to be in Brevard at 8 am!
Zack wasn't old enough to go to the prom, but that didn't stop him from dressing up and taking Ashley to eat at the Boathouse on Lake Julian. He also drove her to the prom and then went back and picked her up. Ashley looked so pretty.
All together at the prom, held at the Crest out on Leicester Highway. Both girls said it was REALLY HOT inside and even though they thought they would be chilly with all the rain, they were glad it was cooler outside! Thanks, Ashley (below with Zack), for taking the pic.
Unfortunately it was raining when it was time to take the pics before prom and these are by far the worst pictures I have ever made. They were rushed and blurred and dark and grainy and ugh! I doctored this one enough to make me "okay" with posting it. Guess I don't need 100 great shots anyway - but I do like a little more to choose from than I was able to come up with tonight. Anyhoo - they still look gorgeous! The green dress really brought out the green in Amy's eyes. Amy & Brandon went to Charlotte Street Grill for Dinner and Amanda & Atley went to the Marketplace. Both said the food was great. Guess Frank & I will have to check them out soon!
